2009-10 NCAA COLLEGE FOOTBALL BOWL POOL

A L A B A M A ! ! ! ALL the betting lines were on the line until the very end! Alabama - National Champions come to think of it - SEC has now won 4 National Titles in a row… 2 Florida & LSU.. Truly the best Conference lately!

Congratulation to QUASIMODO (Doug Banker) who was guaranteed to win regardless of the outcome of the National Championship game. 269 points was hiss winning total. Not only does QUASIMODO win our 2009-10 College Football Pool, he has 2 additional entries that finish T-5th as well. Is it appropriate to point out that QUASIMOSO did have 9 entries in the pool! Regardless, DOUG BANKER is the big winner this year! PINBONUS (Tony Behrstock), who never seem to win in the NFL pool, seems to know what he is doing in College Football. This season he finishes in 2nd & 11th place, after having entries that finished in 5th & 6th last season. The boys from ROSE – Mitch & Jack finish with 2 winning entries, T-3rd & 8th . Had Texas covered, COOPER388-93 (Robert Cooper) would have finished in 2nd place instead of 5th. Strangely enough, QUASIMODO was also our LAST PLACE finisher wish 95 points. There were 120 official entries we will pay-out to the Top-11 slots + the ‘MOST WINS’ bonus below.

BONUS PRIZE: $600. to the entry with the most wins – 18 of 28 was that number and it happens to belong to 9 of the 120 teams. 2 of those happen to be entries that did NOT finish in the $$: WHITE TRASH1 (33rd place) & QUASIMODO, yes again (40th place). The other 7 are all posted on the Leader Board with 18 wins. These 9 will receive an additional $67. each.

QUASIMODO – Doug Banker, had a great pool season – finishing 1st – 5th – 6th, plus 4 entries with 18 winners – that’s worth a total of $1,388.

PINBONUS – Tony Behrstock, deserves mention as well… finishing 2nd & 11th, plus 1 entry with 18 winners for a total of $482.

THE ROSES – Mitch & Jack finish in T-3rd & 8th plus 1 entry with 18 winners for a total of $567.

Of our 28 games: 28 entries started 0-3 the day after Christmas. FAVORITES covered only 9 times. That’s amazing – the spreads weren’t that large overall.

MOST POINTS WITH A LOSING RECORD:
19th PLACE – X-MAN (Skip Palo) 13-15 record with 230 points.

MOST POINTS WITH THE FEWEST WINS:
12th PLACE – PB & J (Mitch Rose) 14-14 record with 243 points.

FEWEST WINS WITH THE MOST POINTS:
90th PLACE – THE ORIGINAL MONEY (Mitch Sagawitz) 9-19 record with 174 pts.

FEWEST POINTS WITH A WINNING RECORD:
73rd PLACE – NITTANY BRUINS (Jeff Bailes) 15-13 record with 188 points.

Had TEXAS covered – the results in the pool would not have changed that much. 6 entries would have split the BONUS with 19 wins.

1/2 POINT GAMES: There were 5, including 3 of the first 4 games on the grid.

BEST GAME: Northwestern vs Auburn comes to mind.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: Would have been different if Colt McCoy could have played the entire game. Alabama won with a QB who threw for only 58 yards! UGH!!! GREAT game regardless.

My Favorite Conference… Mt. West went 4-1 (TCU being the only loser).

Once again, Happy New Year to all.....
That's it until the 2009 NCAA COLLEGE BASKETBALL POOL!
